1872 - F.Waters - Caxton St. Petrie Terrace- vanman. Brisbane Post Office Directory
1891 - Fred has 46 horses registered as being stabled in various premises in Caxton Street.Most are apparently used in the freight business. Fred's furniture making business is located in the former jail where the Police barracks was located,now the site of a Coles shopping mall and theatre complex.

1909 - Frederick and Frances' nine surviving children,two grandchildren and two sons-in-law are employed in the Freight business, furniture dealership and boarding houses. Wages are 50 shillings per fifty hour week for driver of one horse wagon, 4 shillings more for a two horse team.
1915 - Purchase of two 30 cwt chain driven trucks to save labour.Son Edward Waters,Grandson George Frederick Waters and sons-in-law,George Wixon and Albert Quaife have volunteered for the First AIF. All returned to Australia but only George Wixon rejoined the family company. 1925 - Death of Frederick Waters aged 82. George Waters takes over the Freight business.All purpose trucks are used rather than ones designed to carry only furniture.
1942 - The arrival of the American Army saw the introduction of palletised freight and the first forklifts in Australia. Waters Transport gains contract for freight of sundry supplies from Bretts Wharf to various offices and depots. George and brother Tom Waters have a Ferguson tractor adapted to lift pallets to speed loading at the Paddington Depot.Quartermasters insisted on their pallets being returned so Tom has his own 40 x 48 inch pallets made to exchange at various depots.Tom's pallets are soon preferred over the original issued ones.
1945 - The Americans withdrawal from Australia leaves over five million pallets plus forklifts and other handling equipment to be utilised or destroyed. The Australian Government hires consultants including George Waters to form a board to bring this equipment into general use. The Commonwealth Handling Equipment Pool is formed but George doesn't get to see the result as he dies suddenly in December 1945.
1954 - 1967 - Fruit and vegetables transported from farms on Macleay and Russell Islands in Moreton Bay to Brisbane Markets. General freight is carried on return trips including timber from Granchester.
1993 - Waters Transport adds pallet recovery for various companies to the General Freight business.Pallets are recycled and repaired and the excess are sold to clients.
1995 - Pink Pallets formed to expand the pallet recycling business.General Freight is gradually withdrawn as a service except for existing subcontracts.
2001 - In excess of 5000 tonnes of material is recycled this fiscal year.Metal recycling is added to services.
2005 - Purchase of Logan City Pallets and Timber gives company a Logan City and Gold Coast base.
2009 - General Freight is again added to services which addition of new trucks.Matthew Waters,sixth generation member of the family company introduces Livestock Transport service to Beaudesert regional yard.
